car shaking when braking?????
alright my friend drives a 93 accord lx. everytime i drive it on the freeway and brake, the whole car shakes. the shaking doesnt stop until i let go of the brakes. what do you guys think??
do you think its better to resurface it? or do you think itll jus happen again after few months? how much would it cost to resurface it or new ones? nothin top of the line
If that's the problem... Depends if it's been done before. If not, you can have them resurfaced, new pads, on the road. If they've been resurfaced already I wouldn't recomend having it done again. When was the last full brake job? By that I mean, rotors, pads, shoes (in the back - since it's lx).
Depending on how much run out the rotors have and thickness.
If too thin or way too much run out would most likely be suggested to discard and replace.

Stealthman is right, its pretty expensive unless you have the tool to pull them off. Thats one thing I hate about them is the pressed on crap.
Have someone measure the rotor's though and tell you how much life is left. Then go from there. Its a common problem for them to warp in the front. I had to have mine resurfaced once. I think thats about all you can get out of them too is one resurfacing. But you can check it.
Dont forget new pads if you resurface them though...

personally i think you should just get oem replacements or new rotors and pads... its not hard to do it yourself.. as long as you have a hub puller... you can remove the hub... granted that your car has trapped rotors... if they are not trapped then hell just do it yourself... but if the car has NEVER had a full brake service in like the past 8-10 years.. that hub may take you a while to get off.. or atleast it did for my car.. 2 hours for the driver front hub.. goodluck
Our dealership charges 5hrs for the front rotors and bearings.. I usually spend about 1/2 and hour per side, but that's with air tools..
