hole in transmission case

hole in transmission case

I have a very small hole on the lip of the case facing the header near the extension rod. The hole looks like it was a notch that was cut out. Is this normal? I have a 94 LS w/ manual tranny.

maybe someone was running a beefy header and had to trim some of the transmission casing. I wouldnt worry about it if you have no leaks
