For a smooth ride, you want the stock suspension. Nothing else will be as smooth, because anything else wil have to make compromises.
For a 1.5" drop, just go get some good quality lowering springs and shocks good enough to handle the new height and stiffer rate. You have to go stiffer as you go lower, or you'll bottom out all the time. Stiffer means less smooth ride quality.
The simple answer is Eibach Sportlines and quality shocks.
