hi i have a 93 Ls with a ys1 tranny (non-Lsd) and minor bolt on's.the problem is after i like get on it pretty hard and then slow down again the car seem like it dosent want to stay in gear but it is.The rmp's shoot up then drop when i let off the gas back to normal it only happens in 2-5 gear not in first tho and the clutch smells real bad after.iv asked people around they say it is the clutch ,some say its gettin to much fuel do u guys no whats wrong.also i havent got a tune up scence i got the car.mabe its off time?
i also put in 89 octain

 

imma take a guess and say that your clutch is going bad if it slips in and out like that. That actually happened to me and i changed my clutch adn everything was good again. Also If you have a short shifter you might not be putting it in gear all the way and it slips out just enough to do the things your saying.

Yep, had it happened when I went to Orlando and had the A/C wide open, going 80+ in 90 degree + weather, i was pushing the gas and going no where....
