JDM ITR front YELLOW Bulb in Headlights replaced /w Yellow H3 bulb.. not as bright? how to fix
Allrights so ive owned Four Integras, 2 USDM front 2 JDM fronts, and My recent car ive gone through about THREE sets of headlights (buy , sell, buy, sell) cause they are never up to my expectations.. *sigh* i can never find a set as clean / not broken/ no hazing/ no leak/ etc as my First set on my 3rd integra.., anways i am on my THIRD SET and these were suppose to be "Mint" but ended up /w a Passenger side Yellow bulb crack that i did not see until i got home and wired them up and it shined Bright *** WHITE light.. so i order the JDM h3 Yellow Luminics Bulbs and i install them and now i have them, My Driver Side is More "Yellow" then my Passenger side.. and i think it looks kinda tacky / not so clean.. (sorry im **** about all my car parts) so i am wondering HOW DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM so that BOTH My Fog Lights are Same Color !! here are pics: (dont mind the jdm hood dent .. i got my insurance money bout to fix it ASAP)

sorry pics cant really tell the different shade of color, but when ur standing right infront of it lookin down, u acn see on the relfectors that the Passenger side has more "white" to it then the driver side.. i saw a thread here on HT about how someone opened it up and put a OLDschool Acura Legend fog bulb or something.. cant find it anymore..

If you want the illumination to be even, you're going to have to completely remove any of the remaining yellow filters. Since the passenger side filter was already broken, you'll have to remove the driver side one as well.

big deal, just because they're JDM doesn't make them super-fragile. You can open and close them up just like USDM headlights, like when people do retrofits. I stuck my headlights in the oven to do my retrofit, then when finished I put them in the oven again, pressed the halves back together, and that was that. No extra sealant needed, and it's only gotten a bit of condensation in it maybe twice in the past 3 years.
anyone got the thread to opening / closing headlights?
anyways i juss tried it using the white bulbs that are made in germany (ones u get from Kragen / Pep boys ) made a lil diff.. now both are kinda not as yellow.. now imma try with the OEM KOTO japan bulb ( those are a bit not as bright ) so might even it out.. but damn.. i wish i could get em both to be as yellow as my driver side /w the yellow luminics bulb..

Here's the story:
Noticed my passenger side JDM ITR HID fog capsule was broken. The light output and color were different from the diver’s side. I only assumed that the fog capsule cracked from people slamming my hood close. Never let the hood fall to a hard close, or the vibration will slowly crack the fog capsule.
Instead of being sad about it, I decided to do something about it. I remember someone selling Acura Legend fog capsules for like $30 a pair plus shipping on HT. I called around town to see if the junkyard had some; they all didn’t have a clue what I was talking about. Went to the local pick and pull; broke the lens off an Acura Lengend’s fog lights and took the yellow fog capsules. The cashier didn’t know what I have, and had to explain it to her five times. She finally got tired of looking up a price and gave them to me for $5 dollars. I could have just put them in my pocket and walked out, but I’m an honest guy. Damn military honors code!
I baked my headlight to separate the lens and the rest of the headlight; took out the broken fog capsules and the capsule retainer. Took a flat head to separate the retainer from the clip that holds the retainer and the rest of the broken fog capsule. Keep in mind that the legend fog capsule is just a tad wider on the base, so it’s not a direct fit into the retainer. Solution is to sad the base of the Legend’s capsule just a little bit to make it fit in the retainer. After that just put everything back in reverse and resealed the headlights.
I took lots of pictures as I went along. I’ll create a DIY when I get a chance. Here are some of the more interesting pictures. 5 dollars and a little faith is all it takes!

^^^ Acura Lengend Fog Capsules, $5 a pair

Broken Fog Capsule from JDM ITR HID headlights (non hid are the same)

Left: Broken Fog Capsule joined with its other half (no good anymore). Right: Replacement Fog Capsule from Acura Legend ***Don't try to glue the broken capsule together and put them back, the glue with just be heated up by the fog bulb and eventually break apart.

Legend Capsule in place. Its not pushed in all the way, but once it is it should sit flush on at the top with the cover

HID reflector bowl just incase anyone wants to compare the part numbers with the S2Ks and TSXs (so no other person have to open up their JDM HID headlights just to confirm the #

youre making a big deal out of how yellow a ****** foglight bulb is
do so research and take the headlight apart yourself instead of having someone hold your hand while you do it
there are quite a few threads on how to take apart every type of headlight you can imagine like this one for exapmle https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1574596
give it a try yourself, it is straight forwad explaining everything
dont be afaraid to do things on your own, the only way to lear is to do it yourself
