SO WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN?????rumors rumors rumors rumors
So I’ve been sitting back hearing a lot of rumors that nope is leaving drag racing and will start doing drifting events along with drag racing for the 2007. and will only do drifting for 2008 and beyond , and for nhra they’ve been wanting to shut down the import side for a few years now. So I have this question what are all the people that have built a class propose car like sfwd or hotrod going to do if these body no longer support import drag racing. I’ve been building my car slowly for sfwd for sometime now and I don’t want to get stuck with a car that only comes out 3-5 times a year when battle and idrc comes to town.
ill start my own nhra compact series, it will start in san fernando road that will be called the sylmar national, thenwe go to the outskirts of lancaster, then vegas strip, colorado springs blvd, to route 66 and so on and so forth, we will bring our own christmas tree as well lol it wont happen for a while so get over it, we will be racing till we run out of all the fuel in the world
If there is no Nopi or NHRA just take your cars to test and tune events at your local track and do the same thing as always. Pay money to run and not get anything in return other than just have fun.
I'd love to know who spreads the rumor that NHRA wants "out" of sport compact.
Why would anyone even think that?
What has the NHRA done to make anyone think that we are only in this for the short term?
Just Curious????

the ones spreading the rumors are the ones that most likely dont show up at the track and participate in the events. they have nothing better to do than talk about something they dont know about.
from what I saw at Pomona and other local races... seems to me that there is still a strong following for drag racing, why would they shut down if people still want to race.

more turnout = more $ going into the sport
Combining the two is a great idea to me.
Drift, Drag, and Autocross Super Challenge for Honda Day next year
I'll go out and buy an s2000 just for the event!

The only thing that sucks about NHRA is they dont come to the east coast enough! Us east coast guys get left out of everything except NDRA, hell thats why we are going to run it. I cant load up the truck and car and drive to vegas and back in a weekend. The furthest NDRA even is 13 hrs, not 4 days. OH well, maybe 1 day.
If you live on the east coast you can't possibly complain about not having close races! lol Who woulda thought Texas, being right in the middle of everything, wouldn't have a race closer than 14 hours. lol
Oh, i know why it is, just would be nice to have stuff middle ground instead of always being east coast or west coast. Could you imagine if there was a really big event and people came from both coasts to it? It would be huge!
Texas is full of racers. I just think they didnt like the spectator turnout. Remember the ndra event in Memphis, it sucked. The farther they get away from the east coast, the less people show up.
I know it sucks, I would love to have more events in the middle of the US. They would be closer for me too. The closest event last year was Valdosta and it was 8 hours. Dallas is only 10 hours for me. Atco is 14 hours and Moroso was 14 hours. Vegas is 29 hours of driving.
