Default Tire options

Hey guys,

Im in need of new tires because the ones I have on the 'lude right now are pretty bad in the back and the ones in the front are cheap Pep boys tires that cause a lot of vibration and lose traction quick.

I work at Sears so I have a vast amount of choices for tires but Im still not sure what I should get.

The one tire Im interested in getting is a Kumho Ecsta ASX. Ive had Kumhos on my other car and they didnt give me any problems, and Ive read that these are good.

Im just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these tires or if anyone can give me any recommendations on some tires.

This is my daily driver, and I live in upstate ny where snow is plentiful but I still want an all season tire.

I drive a 92' Si.

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks

Also, this is kinda off topic but what gear oil do you guys use for your manual trannys?

I just put Yokohama ES 100's on my 17" Enkei RSV's and I'm very impressed with the added traction and ride comfort. Also the road noise is less than my previous set which were Falkein Azenis with 20,000 miles on them. I highly suggest the ES 100's if you are looking for a tire under $100 a pop.

you have a lot of options: since i see you live on the east coast, then winter season is coming, might want to look into blizzaks, or some other all seasons

then for the dry season get some nice sticky tires. Kuhmos are cheap, but i was looking into them because of the price. Bridgestone Potenzas RE, Yokohoma Parada Spec 2's, etc...

My recommendation, buy a 2nd set of wheels. Even steelies are a good option. The problem with All Season is they really don't do anything well.

I bought a second set of 92-93 OEM wheels off Ebay for $50. I then bought a set of snow tires, and put a set of Bridgestone S03's on the other set. Needless to say, I am VERY happy! It makes preparing for the Winter/Summer MUCH easier, and I am more prepared for both.

As for tranny oil, I use Penzoil.

Well Im kind of on a budget thats why I wanted to get all seasons instead of snow tires and then all seasons.

Sorry if that sentence was confusing.

falken 615's best tires on a budget or not. I wouldn't recommend anything else. as long as a lil road noise doens't bother you
