Default '02 CRV..wet passenger side floor??

The wife's CRV has had wet carpet on the passenger side evry now and then when it rains. The windshield is confirmed as NOT being the source. (recently replaced) It's not the AC drain either. That has been cleaned and checked. Near as I can tell, there is a trace of moisture on the passenger side kick panel steel sometimes. (interior components in the area have been removed.) I have poured water down the sunroof drains without any obvious leak showing up. The intake cowling below the windshield has been removed and the area thoroughly inspected. Any ideas or known problems I can go after? Thanks.

i bet the water is coming in from the right side fender area. Pull back the inner fender and see if there are any holes leading to the interior.

Hmm.. Never heard of that before.. But I do know that it was a common problem on the first gen CRV's.. The problem was that if you had your climate control settings on high fan with fresh air intake while it was raining or in a car wash, you'd find water on the passanger floor. The solution was to advise the customers to turn the vent from fresh air to recirc during heavy rain or car washes. Or you could just turn the climate control system off during those events..

There is a service bulletin 06-037 on this issue. It states that places on the firewall were not sealed properly in production on some CRV's....simple fix. Your Honda dealer can help on the details. This may or may not be your issue so before you demand they fix it, make sure it is.

Thanks for the service bulletin tip. I'll pull the inner fender and investigate.

The bulletin is not for the inner fender well, it is for the fire wall in the engine bay. Get a print out of it, and it will show you.
