Default Buying a Pre-Owned Accord Tips?

Hello All,
I will hopefuuly be purchasing a pre-owned 04 Accord in the next week or so. I have read that you can generally save between $1,500 and $2,500 on pre-owned cars asking prices. I have never bought a Honda and I know the resale value is high so I don't know if this applies in this case. It seems Kelly Blue Book retail values are similar to asking prices in my area. Should I expect to pay near asking price from a Honda dealer on a pre-owned? I have to purchase from a dealer as I have a lame trade in I could never sell personally.
Any tips are greatly appraciated. Thanks much!

Kelly Blue Book SUCKS; they base the prices on dealer ASKING price. Not actual selling prices.
