Default To all with the JDM DC 4-1 exhaust mani.........

did you all buy the extra flange for the end of the collector with it. im about to order the JDM DC 4-1 from inlinefour.com, but im curious if the extra stuff is a must. RIght now it will go on with the stock cat, but eventually ill get the carsound high-flow cat. Only exhuast upgrade is the apexi n1 catback so far. ALso, with this header, is it noticably louder? what about at idle? Was there any welding at the collector end, or just simply bolt right on?

TIA
fellow H-T'ers for the patience.

i have the JDM DC 4-1, Carsound cat and Greddy Evo. the header has longer secondaries than the stock header so the stock cat will not work with it unless you get a muffler shop to cut your exhaust piping and put another flange on it, as far as extra parts or welding i did not have any, i got the header, cat, and exhaust at once and just bolted it all up

Your stock cat will not work with a JDM DC 4-1 unless you flare out your cat inlet piping to 2.5" and weld a 2.5" flange on it. For the amout of work and time this takes, I would save up enough money and get the 2.5" cat and cat-back at the same time.

Do it right the first time.

I didn't buy the extra flange.

Well just so everyone knows the DC JDM hangs lower than the stock header. I ran a median and the header has a HUGE dent in it. My car is only lowered maybe 1-1.5 inches. I scraped it before also...maybe it is just my driving.
