Default jdm h22a obdII ecu help

Putting a jdm h22a obdII into my 97 US prelude. I have an ecu from the US prelude which works fine. I also was shipped a P5M with my motor from hmotors. I have read on here the P5M has an immobilizer I believe?

Which ECU should I use? Would it be bad to use the us h22a4 ecu with the jdm h22a? I have read that the fuel curve on the jdm ecu is more aggressive resulting in more power. I am also under the impression the compression is a little higher in the jdm motor than in the US motor, will this make a difference when using a jdm motor with US ecu? If I shouldnt run either of these ECU's which would you guys recomend I buy? I have used the search feature, but it doesnt seem like many people are swapping in jdm obdII h22a's, mostly jdm obdI. Thanks for any insight.

I swaped an H22A with my H22A4 on my lude...i'm using the US ECU running OBD2 configuration...works fine...the JDM fuel curve is more aggressive...but it doesn't mean that the US ECU curves are bad...I've been running my JDM h22a with my US PM5 ecu for a year now without any problem...or anything I know of...if you wanna run the p13 you gotta convert to OBD1..which is good..except you gotta worry about smog legal issues..if you're from a state where smog is not an issue..converting to OBD1 you can benifit from that.

Thanks for the informatuon AsiAnVenOm. I would rather not convert to obdI. Did you take the wire harness off of your h22a4 and use it on the jdm obdII h22? If so, is there anything one should do besides switch over the distributer and external coil? Thanks again for your help.

there are atleast 100+ threads covering what you need to know.

Dizzy + Coil, Oil pump, Wiring harness are just a few of the things you need to take off of the usdm motor.

redtop22, I performed a search prior to starting this thread. Most of the threads pertain to obdI h22a's. Like I said in my original post I am having trouble finding some information regarding the jdm h22a obdII. If you could point me in the right direction with a link I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I understand its frusterating to read over the same information in multiple different threads. I cannot seem to find the information which I have asked for in my post. Could you kindly direct me towards it. Thanks again.

C'mon anyone else have anything to say?

AsiAnVenOm - Did you switch over the us oil pump to your jdm motor? Did you switch over the distributer and external coil as well? Anything else you switched over? I have heard EGR ?
