Default engine / exhaust rumble

I searched already;
make: Honda Accord 2000 SE, AT

If exhaust valves too tight, will that make engine/exhaust to rumble ?

as rpm go higher rumbles get louder.

is it OK to run like this ?
my valve doesn't make any ticking noise, do I still adjust them anyway ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi JimBlake:

It's not my muffler, sound coming from engine bay near manifold and kind of behind intake TB

and

my valves not ticking at all, so I am thinking - is my valve lash too close ?

Thanks for the reply.

edit:

my cylinder Head being shaved and installed by local shop while they at Head Gasket - after that all these, shsh started.

How about a leak in that flex-bellows section of the exhaust pipe. That's sorta in that general area.

Mostly I was just thinking you wouldn't call it a 'rumble' if it was a buzzing noise. Sometimes you just have to hear it firsthand...

rumble your talking about is what i got. Its a small exhaust manifold leak near the bottom of the pipe. To me it sounds like a baby harly when i coast at idle and burly press the throttle. Its not loud at all but its there.

only can hear it between 800 and 1.8k rpms

Its hard to diagnose problems like this over the internet, without hearing the noise.
