yep, the rod can be reused, the pistons will almost always be trashed. They make a special tool to press the pin out without trashing it but almost nobody has it.

Yes or anybody with a press...given the pistons will be trashed, but the rods will be fine.

damn... cuz i tried heating up the rod and slipping the wrist pin in and it cooled down too quickly and now the wrist pin is half out and half in with brand new jdm itr pistons...
Machine shop should be able to take care of that for you....though it may or may not work. I did the same my first try and the machine shop was able to press it in fully with no problems. Engine went to 9k everyday, so its possible....though I learned my lesson when it comes to taking certain things to a machine shop.
