my car goes through a qt and a half of oil every 3 to 4 weeks...

i'm thinking bad piston rings..

so if i were to rebuild my bottom end , i just wanted to see what the price range would be for a good setup. and also what knid of setup would be good....b18c1

Did you want aftermarket parts or OEM?

 

i would like do something better, maybe some itr pistons or what ever....

 

i was thinking type-r piston, gsr crank n rods.......what you think

Sleeving the block might be a good idea.

 

i was thinking about that, because i don't know how the cylinder walls look...

 

My car leaks about the same amount of oil and its the cam seal. Have you replaced that yet? Start simple on fixing your leak before you go and rebuild your whole bottom end.

Unless you're actually WANTING to spend all that money. Do a compression test also before you assume bad rings

 

no, i haven't check that out yet, but thanks, if there was a cam seal leak wouldnt i see a leak around the head?????

 

another reason why i think its bad piston rings is, when i get on my car i can see alot of gray smoke coming out of the back....i don't if thats really bad or not.

Have you checked your spark plugs? See if there is any oil on them or if they are black as tar.

 

they are a lil black, but know oil on them..

I really doubt your rings are a cause for concern right now.
