FastLine shifter > all (even C's, since it's too rare and $$$).

If it's less than $20, it's probably ok, just remember, 'virtually indestructable' does not mean it won't break. I had an aluminum short shifter that snapped off. I used the piece that was left to make the exact same thing that Circuit Hero is selling...

It's just an extender. Basically useless. Will increase the distance you have to move your hand to shift.

Get a Fastline shifter if you want taller and still closer to stock throw.

I can't see how you would thread that on top of an aluminum short shifter and not have it snap off right at threads off the short shifter...eventually

yea, ebay=junk. but the circuit hero shifter with a b&m or a quality unit will probably work awsome. rememebr, you dont have to slam the shifter when you shift a gear. so the load the threads see shouldn't matter. i personally use the FLP because the ebay shifter that was in my car when i bought it broke. so i couldnt try the circuit hero unit. the C's is the ultimate. but snce they dont make them anymore they are indeed pricey and hard to find.

I have a B&M stainless steel short shifter, with my old broken aluminum short shifter threaded on top. I hacksawed the aluminum one just above the ball, tapped it, and then rethreaded the top where it broke. I think the throw is pretty close to stock, and the shifter is nice and high. No pics, I can get them if interested.

OK , have you personally tried the extender in your car at the track? please don't just run your mouth without first hand knowledge or experience

As long as you are not "power-shifting" with all your strenght it will work fine with most reputible short shifters.

I can vouch for this set-up

i have the circuit hero shift extender on my Integra, and LOVE it. the difference is night and day. I have had countless people see it, hate on it like crazy, then sit in the drivers seat, play with it and their impression of the shift extender changes COMPLETELY. They absolutely love it, and ask where to get one, and i reply "sorry, they're no longer in production."

Lucky for them, a new batch has been released, and they are now available from Circuit Hero

Here is the extender, used in conjunction with the Circuit Hero SS **** on my Integra:

I'm a little confused here... Why is this in the RR/AX forum? Seems like more of a drag racing or general tech topic. I've never known other road racers or autocrossers to spend money on shifters... both of my track cars have stock shifters, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've yet to see any worthwhile gains, and there's much better things to be spending that money on, IMO.

Actually the only real purpose is putting the shifter closer to the steering wheel, the faster you can get your hands from the steering wheel to the shifter and back the better.

How do you figure a shift lever extender would relate to drag racing? It is designed to position the shift **** closer to the steering wheel so you can keep your hands on the steering wheel instead of wasting your time looking for the shifter at the track

You obviously have no idea what the product is or how it works. It does not replace your stock shift lever

I'm using the Extension with the OEM ITR shifter, and i have had no problems interfering with the radio at all. I'll admit i never really paid attention, but i haven't had any problems.

edit: i just went out and measured. I have about 4" clearance between the shift **** and the radio. plenty of room
