Hey guys just wondering what you thought of the Comptech Ice Box.... I am getting the feeling its not a true cold air intake because of the open SLOT on the top of the box for the hood pole. That means the filter is sucking hot air from that opening as well as the one pointed towards the fender.
Just wanted to make sure I am thinking right here.
I think I may return it for the Spoon or J's racing intake Duct. ANy thoughts on those?

you'll live with it since it's not that big of a deal. Cheer up, install the intake and have some fun

it's not a bad intake for the price... but trading it in for a j's or spoon one would be a big price issue since it cost about 5 times... and either way your still gonna be sucking in a lil bit of hot air from the engine bay... i would jus stay with the OEM air box and maybe add a air duct (to get sum better flow) but if you decide to add a intake system weither it be j's, spoon, comptech, aem, or arc...etc its all gives you a lil hp gain and a little better throttle response
The hood restricts much of the air from getting in...but if you are that worried about it, tape a cardboard flap to cover it (just tape one edge so you can swing it out of the way to get to the hood prop). BTW...rumor has it that Comptech has redesigned the lid to accomodate the prop rod without the large cutout. Should be out soon.
