@ Moroso today....9.72 @ 144 ...in the SRWD MR-2!!!

After a long week of getting customer's cars out of the shop, we decided to take time off and head to Moroso to try to dial in the SRWD MR-2. owned and driven by Tony Baumgartner.
Last weekend the car's rear end felt a little loose at about the 1000 ft mark yet ran a 10.30 @ 122 letting off on 3rd gear. We knew the car had alot left in it. We went back to the track today and ran a 9.88 @ 133 right off the trailer.... and on the 2nd pass the car went 9.72 @ 144 mph with a 1.44 60'!!!!!!!
the car still has alot left in it... a datalog on the AEM shows a maximum psi of 26.8 on the map sensor..... hopefully we can have it at 35 psi for the Moroso December 9th event......
anyways...whats the quickest MR-2 anyone knows of Mike Colon, Jeffrey Burke,???? maybe HUX racing?????

OH i knew that car was up there in the top fastest mr2's...... this mr-2 still has power windows.... and all oem glass...... the driversimage mr-2 went 9.81@142......

the drivers image mr-2 weighs 2285????? wow less than my hatch.....

I don't know about the top guy on there, but the 2nd-most powerful ran in the 11.70-11.90 range this past season in SportRWD.

Yea, green one with exhaust tips sticking out of the bumper. It did low-mid 12s or so, didn't it? It's not on BOTI's website for some reason, even though that's the event I saw it run at last.

1.44 was on D/R's? I always wondered why some few people exploit the MR2's potential. RWD, motor planted above the rear tires, factory turbocharged, sounds like a hell of a combination. I suppose I'm guilty as well, Honda's just seem more economical in terms of parts being readily available.

blah blah blah, not impressed... worlds fastest MR2; 9.72@144... still not impressed... that car has sooooo much more left in it that until I C the 8.999 I wont be happy ;o)
I know now that Tony knows what he knows, and the car actually goes straight, he wont be happy until he's in the 8's.

"Worlds most powerful street driven MR2 with 825 hp to the wheels. Updated from a previous feature we are now at 825 hp at the wheels up from 715 and shooting for low 9 sec 1/4 at over 150 mph."
I know now that Tony knows what he knows, and the car actually goes straight, he wont be happy until he's in the 8's.
