So I finally got the motor in, axles in, everything is looking great. My hatch is a 99dx, the motor is a 97 , and the wire harness i'm using is a 99-00 ex harness.

I fed the harness through the firewall and started hooking up sensors. I notice there are a lot of plugs that are exactly the same. Most plug in where they should no problem. I then went around to the passenger side to hook up my d16y7 ECU (99-00). There are 3 plugs coming from the main engine harness that plug into the ecu (2 gray and 1 blue), and one gray plug thats coming from inside the car that has no place to go on the ecu.

So i've got 4 plugs and only 3 plug in. I tried getting the car to power up, but when I turn the key forward past accessories, the fuel pump doesnt turn on, the check engine light doesnt come on, and the main relay doesnt click.

Should I be able to crank the car with that combination? Again, this is my first time dealing with an obd2b car.

99 DX hatch
97 CR-V motor
99-00 EX harness
99-00 DX ECU

car wont power up (no main relay, no fuel pump, no CEL, wont crank)
Any ideas?

Here is what i'm dealing with. Am I running into this because i'm using a 99-00 ex harness with a 99-00 DX ecu? Will a OBD2B>OBD1 jumper harness and p28 fix this problem?

After doing more research I realized that the Harness the salvage company sent me was a ******* 99-00 NON-VTEC, AUTOMATIC harness.

The little plug thats not plugged in is the damn auto tranny ****.

I'll leave this up for future reference if anyone comes into contact with this setup.

Now I have to convert the iacv to a 2 wire since the autos and non-vtec motors ran 3 wire. No biggie.
