Default Cranked!

My saga is the 90 Accord that wouldn't start after I replaced the harmonic balancer. It doesn't crank from the ignition switch. The clunck in the engine compartment is the solenoid because I can feel it when someone else turns the ignition swith to start. Nothing else happens except the lights go real dim on the dash. I then jumped from the battery (+) to the starter (+) and had someone crank the engine from inside. The car started and ran as it did normally. After I shut it down I tested the cable from the negative terminal on the battery to the starter terminal and get 12 volts. Any ideas what is going on? I'm leaning toward the main relay but would like to know for certain.

Thanks again,
Scott

You are right. It was the positive cable. It wasn't a fusible link. But I was looking for one in the cable. There isn't one in the cable. There was so much corrosion under the red rubber boot that it blocked off the current to the starter. Cleaned it up, cranked it up, and saved $38 bux at Auto Zone.

Thanks for the assist.
