Boy...how much shorter of a shift throw do you want...I've got the same whip and can't really think of getting a very good feel on shifting with a shorter throw...
I would think you might want to check out somebody's car who already has this mod before you try it yourself (maybe you have and I'm just off base here).
Good luck-hope it works out OK.
Cheers!

Well no one else has the same car or even a shortshifter on their car... but yah i have a questions does yoru 3rd gear not catch sometimes.. cause mine has been doin that for a while and i just called acura and they are gonna go check it out..
u can get a comptec ss for 60-80 dollars i belive. Comptech SS is an adapter so u wont need to cut anything or replace anything. Just add it on to your existing shifter. It makes throws shorter but does NOT reduce the height of the shifter itself.
well.. since im posting about this i might as well help you out with the diff kinds of short shifters for the rsx
the buddy club short shifter is a good short shifter over all. It does lower the stick a bit and the front and back movement is a adjustable.
comptech shortshifter like i said earlier is good too. its an adapter so no replacing or cuting of anything but it doesnt lower the stick at all.
B&M has a short shifter but i believes its known to bend the shift linkage/cables.
revo short shifter has the lowest stick but it hinks ome people had problems with it breaking.. but it might've just been the people..
I would say go witht he comptech since its just an adapter. if you want a shorter stick height then go witht he buddy club. otehrwise, stay away from b&m and revo.. dc sports also has a short shifter i believe.

i had the b&m ss for a while but then it started having rubbing issues after about a month so i recently shipped it back to them so they could fix or replace it. other than that the throws were pretty short , feel was ok, and stick was shorter
i have the DC sports short shift adapter, incredible change from stock, id recomend it, no acutaul new shifter just moves the cable on the shifter upwards so leess shift is involoved, works great
