DAs can be made into good STS cars. Just look for a 92-93 RS.

they're good cars for local autocross events, can be competitive, but on a national level they always get beat by old school civics.

http://www.scca.org/Event/Event.asp

sorry that link doesn't go quite where i wanted it to, but I'll sumarize...the first 10 finishes in the tire rack solo2 nationals were 89-91 civic si's (on all the days I looked at). Beyond that were neons and imprezas, beyond that I didn't check.

IIRC, a prepared RS trim DA is actually pretty light for an Integra. depends on the class you want to run of course, but I think it's a reasonable platform to play around with.

as far as STS, I think the major limitation you'd face is not being able to fit any wider tires under there than the lighter EF Civics can. (I'd try 215/45-16 Azenis)

regarding the National results, Bret Norgard did trophy in 8th place in STS:

I have a friend in CO who was selling his STS prepped white 92 RS a few months ago for $4k?, too.

I have an STS DA
91 RS, I do well but I race local events in my area of Canada. It depends mostly on driver, but if you want to kill a class full of people I suggest getting the best tool for the job, I have an integra because I felt like having one.

Froms what I know:
SS - Elise, Newest Corvette
AS - S2000, STi
BS - RX8
CS - Solstice
ES - 2nd Gen MR2 NA
FS - Camaros and Mustangs?
GS - Cooper S
HS - Cooper
STS - 89si
STS2 - Miata, CRX
CSP - Miata, CRX?
DSP - BMW 325i, ITR?
FSP - Non-si EG Civic, MK1 Scirocco, Rabbit

Thats all I know...

I would consider a DC if its in your budget I wish I had one.....

My weapon of cone destruction..
