I was planning on purchasing some rims with 225/40/18s, will these tire size be good on a dropped 5th gen prelude? any suggestions on what I should get?

Should i be stickin wit 215/35 or 215/40?

215/40 would be good. The offset should be 45+.

I would go with 225/35's. That'll keep you closer to stock tire diameter. If you get 225/40s, you'll probably notice it affecting ur speedo alot more.

If you want, 215/40's will work as well.

Here's the formula so you can calculate tire diameter:

(width of tire)/25.4 = A

A * (aspect ratio) = B

B * (2) + (rim diameter) = C

C = overall diameter

Hope this helps...

Jon

If you ever look at a lude wit 215 and a lude wit 225, I think the 225's look hell phat. It also handles at turns better. Any offset over 45 is ok to drop without rubbing. The higher the offset the more you can drop it. If you get 35 series tires then you just have to be more careful about bending the rims if you hit potholes and those stupid metal plates they always have out in the middle of the roads. 40 series will give you a little more support.

You hit a pothole with 35's and you can kiss those 18's goodbye.

35's:
