I just picked up a 96 Civic LX and I just noticed another problem

when making a turn i put the blinkers on (either left or right) they work but after the turn is complete they stay on.

what is the prob, where should i start looking?

Pull the steering wheel, the turn signal canceller must be missing, just do it in the driveway and turn the wheel all the way to the right, turn on the right turn signal, turn the wheel all the way to the left, if the thing doesnt shut off the signal then it is missing or broken, do you have a stock steering wheel, if not, someone was trying to be kewl (not) and removed the canceller or it just would not go along with the new decor.

 

its a stock steering wheel, but i tend to believe that the prev owner was messing with something cause the SRS light was on as well.

 

sounds like they broke the clock spring for the SRS while they were in there, get the codes read and reset, in the archives if you want to try to reset manually but its tricky.

im not to sure how to pull a steering wheel.

i think its time to buy a helms manual.

lol i had the same problem for about a month..then for some odd reason it just started working. haha i bet u 4get to turn it off at times and leave it on for a few blocks. GL tho
