Hello guys, I've been reading a few threads around here and have read about some people who have painted their bulbs for their heater control to make it look "Amber". Well I was wondering if anyone has taken a different approach as to possibly using red bulbs or any other method?

they should have amber bulbs at your local auto store..i know cause i work at one.

im pretty sure thats a 194 bulb

 

That is not a 194 bulb, i believe you can only get them at the dealer, i just soldered leds right onto the copper pads when mine burnt out.

 

I dont think you can paint or change the bulbs to amber to see from the outside or whatever. I think you will have to take the blue strip off the climate control, then put a orange tint or whatever color you would like. There was a write up on this.

Its a bummer that it takes alot of work for it possibly damaging it too. Yea the bulbs are definately not 194, because they are much bigger than the ones i displayed above. These bulbs you can't actually remove because the wires are bent in with the plastic white base. So far I have a red illuminated gauge cluster, so I want to be consistent.
