Need help with the Escort Radar!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the Escort 8500 for my teg, and the other day out of nowhere it read "Self Cal", and after a min it restarted, what does that mean?

Sometimes it does that when it gets really hot....but I dunno since it's November now.

this happen to me with my beltronics RX65 in the summer time..so it may be the heat factor as stated above..but it shouldn't be anything to worry about since its just self calibrating itself...
