I've used Redline MTL in my 94 civic ex's transmission, and I liked the performance and shift feel better with Amsoil 5w30 MTF, the amsoil is just that much better than MTL to me.
As far as engine oil, you coul go with 5w30 Mobil 1 synthetic, it has a pretty good cold pour point, otherwise if you need better cold pour point/flow then go with Castrol 0w30 (german castrol), or possibly 0w40 Mobil 1.
If you have access to Esso, get the esso xd-3 0w30 or 0w40; they're great values for a great performing oil. I've only seen it in Canada so far.

Redline MTL is great for the transmission, but maybe not in cold conditions. In warm/hot conditions, it easily kicks Honda MTF's ***.
As for the engine, I like Valvolene SynPower. Mobil 1 tends to disappear.

if i remember correctly i remember seeing a ad in superstreet saying that esso is now avaible in the US. what do you guys think of GReddys line of high-performance oils?

I used Redline motor oil in my dedicated Prelude Track car...never in the kind of cold conditions that you are likely to experience though. If you go with Redline...I would not use the Race oil (single viscocity)...I would use their line of synthetic dual viscocity oil.
Cheers!

In my experience, Redline MTL clearly prolonged the life of my synchros. I had a slight 3rd gear crunch with Honda MTF, which was disappointing because I had replaced that synchro only about a year earlier. I then switched to Redline MTL and the crunch went away completely and didn't come back until a year and a half later when I abused that synchro pretty bad (clutch disc lost a spring which got jammed in the pressure plate, and I was in a bad situation where I really needed it to go into gear, so I was grinding the hell out of it). I've only heard of issues with Redline tranny fluid when the weather was cold (although this seemed to be mostly speculation), or when people were using the wrong weight of it (for most Hondas, you want the one that's actually called "MTL").
