Default What lowering springs to use on my 96 LS?

I'd like to lower my car an inch or so, but I'm confused by the variety of choices. I do not race the car, but I would like to make some minor (and not terribly expensive) appearance improvements. I see lowering springs advertised for $150 to $250, but then I see 'coil-over' springs on ebay for like $50. Any recommendations on which one to use, (or avoid) ???

as far as springs are concerned, GENUINE tein s-techs are wonderful as are eibach lowering springs....cheap coilovers i shy away from and only look to do coilovers if investing in a full damper set, which is way more than you want to spend
