Default Brembo slotted an drilled rotors, stock autozone pads....

Will those pads work with those rotors?? Like i dont need any kinda crazy brake pads right?? I just got the rotors off a friend who ordered for front an back an ended up havin extra but not sure what kinda pads to use..

i wouldnt recommend using stock pads, i have cross drilled neuspeed rotors, and am running hawk performance pads

You dont have to use "RaCinG pads" on a street driven car. I have Brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors running factory Type R pads. (I upgraded my calipers using the FastBrakes upgrade) My car stops fine, and I dont have to clean my wheels every week. In the end, they are just rotors.

you dont need slotted/drilled RaCinG rotors on a street driven car either. this has been covered...brembo blanks are as serious as you need to go unless you auto-x i suppose.

Drilled/slotted rotors = less frictional surface = wont be able to stop as fast. So if your really into 'performance' and not looks, get blanks. You ever see an f1 car with drilled/slotted rotors? Didnt think so.

While I do agree with you, you don't exactly see F1 cars with standard type rotors. Or metal ones for that matter.

To the OG poster, there is no reason why those pads should not "work" with those rotors.

Maybe not F1, have you ever looked at the rotors Mercedes Benz vehicles? Sure they have a few more horses than my car, but they do come stock. I agree I dont need cross drilled/slotted rotors - but at the time thats all Brian had at Fastbrakes had. Fastbrakes Blank rotors would work just fine. I just trying to state the fact OEM pads work just fine.

sweet thanks dude.. i kno that the slotted an drilled arent gonna do as good as the blanks most likely, but with my wheels that I just bought, drilled an slotted rotors just make my ride look a little more aggressive i guess.. Porsche's an other exotic vehicles come with'em, but also I guess the ones on those cars must work considering they're like 19" brake setups lol... Thanks for input guys..

They are made differently.

Even Porsche admitted that they were for cosmetic reasons.

dont watch f1 but have i ever seen a 4 second 1/8 mile car making passes over 150 with cross drilled rotors? yes just about every wed at the local strip.

Brembo doesn't make cross drilled AND slotted rotors. A third party manufacturer had a hand in making your rotors. I wouldn't use them period. Especially if you plan on tracking the car in the future.

The more mass you can remove from something, the lighter it is. A huge factor in DRAG racing when deciding what components to use. Probably running the Wilwood Dynalite kits.

i would suggest auto zone rotors and better pads!

but with the hole's in them, wouldnt drilled rotors at least prevent less heat..?? just an idea...

update... i installed them with some nice pads, an everything runs fine but once i get up over like 75 my car about every 3 seconds does like a vibration like pulse from the front end...?? once i get under 75 everything seems fine... maybe wheel bearing?? i replaced driver side about 3 months ago, an didnt do passenger.. car has about 120k on it..

no. heat actually builds up inside the holes as they are sealed from each side passing through the brake pads. which is why sometimes drilled rotors crack at the holes.

Less mass to dissipate heat on+ the same amount of heat= more of a tendancy to break, its simple mathematics, but anything with R and D, I would think is fine. A main reason drilled rotors are used is to clear away brake material, less time you need to spend cleaning your wheels.

Here is a little info for you rotors were x drilled and or slot to help increase brake performance. Under hard braking heat builds up between the pad and the rotor this causes gasses to be given off. this layer of gas is trapped between the pad and rotor causing a decrease in friction between the 2 surfaces. The xdrilling or slotting allows the gasses to escape from between the 2 surfaces increasing baking performance. F1 and other race cars try looking at the materials they use for there brakes and what the rules let them run

Your right, but this isn't 1970 anymore so pads don't gass off like they used too.

Buy blanks if your using your car for the street and if you decide too autocross get good pads. The only time crossdrill/slotted is acceptable is when there cast made and two piece rotors (aluminum hat). Crossdrilled/slotted is mostly about saving weight when getting a bigger/thicker rotor. Yes they cool down quicker... and heat up quicker.
BTW nascar uses blanks

yes on what fasthatch says, that crossdrilled rotors are used mostly to save weight, especially on drag cars that dont need brakes that much. other than that, slotted rotors will help in dissipating gasses, but that really will only come into play in a significant manner if you are doing some seriously hard driving, such as road racing.

I was referring more too it being ok for crossdrilled/slotted on a tight road course were your on/off the brakes quite often. They might heat up quicker but they cool down quicker. Getting the right balance is hard. LaMans cars use them for a bigger rotor/pad surface that have lighter weight. There's also a lot more to it but im not an expert, just regurgitating what I have been told by engineers on race teams.

These are my rotors and have had hard braking from 140MPH to 40 repeatedly and have not shown fade yet (im a *****). Also I have everything to work with them, good calipers, brake fluid, etc... My car also weighs 3500 lbs.

Drag rotor's just save weight with small light calipers

BTW those aren't on a Honda
