Default Golden Eagle Head bolt studs GOOD or BAD?

I have some golden eagle head bolt studs for the B20 vtec I am building and I ended up Striping the threads in the block for the number 1 bolt on the 72 lb torque spec. Anyways, I took it to the machine shop to get the block recert in it and they told me that the bolts seem really loose in the block itself and might have caused the damage. I know I have the right bolts from GE, the 11mm ones for a B18C motor. Has anyone else heard such a thing. I am going back to AEBS just in case.
