hey guys..i just did the mini me and i've had a very loud tapping since i finished..my boy came over and he looked at it and said that i had a bent valve..soi took it and got it machined and got new valves..andi reinstalled it and did a valvelash and it still tapps hella loud..need help my other boy thinks its my lifter ...i think he means the rocker arms ...any ideasguys..thanks in advnce
did you clay the block before assembling the engine, your valves may be hitting the piston. It would explain the cause of your bent valve

what do u mean clay the block....oh when i bought the head it had a bent valve already..but the guy i bought it from didnt tell me that.. so what do you mean by clay the block..any other ideas..what do u think about the lifter thing..the rocker arms could be bad maybe i dont know ...thats why im asking for help ...thanks
well when you put a VTEC head on a block that has pistons that were not meant for VTEC they usually don't have big enough valve reliefs and the valve can hit the piston. By claying the block you know your clearance.
use search to see how to clay a block to save me a hella lot of typing
it could be a lifter or a rocker arm but I would have to hear it to tell for sure.
I'm just naming the more simple possibilities first.
