Paint Problem with Rsx or Acura did something to my car
Ok I've had my red RSX for a month now. Last week i decided to wash my car and after when it was all clean, i noticed there was a problem. In the sunlight i noticed that my bumper was a different shade of red. It's a dull red color. It's darker than my body too. I really was pissed when i saw this. I even notice the different color shades during the night too.
Is this a problem with the acura paint. Or has Acura replaced my bumper or repainted. Any help would be appreciated.

Paint matching on all honda/acura products is SPECIFICALLY excluded from the warranty.
It's a different color because the body is metal while the bumpers are plastic/urethane.
They won't fix it. Especially if it's only slightly different.
(ask any yellow type-r owner how well the front and rear bumpers match...)

Damnit. It's pretty noticable though. I mean the bumper is a dull dark red.
If you stand and look at the car you'll notice the difference.
If i was driving by, then you can't tell the difference.
Oh well
I'll go to acura and bitch anyways. lol

Yep, The bumper colors are notoriously different, particularly on red, yellow, and burgundy.
Good luck. If the dealership doesn't fix it, Acura definitly won't.

true that, I can see the difference in color of my mirrors and bumpers than the rest of my car, I have to look really hard, but I can do it
its like "the punk" said, its juse because its a different type of material, urethane vs metal. Its funny it varies from car to car too because my friend has an Electron blue pearl civic Si and my other friend did too and was trading it in so they swapped bumpers but not lips so my friend that was keeping his car could have the factory foglights. Well needless to say in certain lights his car looks like a puzzle of mixed up colors of blue. like the others said....nothing you can really do...
My red Civic had the same red bumper issue. I had the entire car painted after it got sideswiped, and the aftermarket paint was much better- four + years and it looked better than the paint on most new cars that just rolled off the truck.
I have a pearl white RSX-S now that had a gouged bumper when I bought it- the dealer replaced it immediately, but the paint shop did not match the bumper very well. That was when I noticed that the front bumper was a little off as well. I looked at every other white Honda I could find, and they didn't match exactly either. Anyway, the car went back to the shop and now the back bumper looks better than the front.
I took the RSX (afer the unsuccessful painting) to my old body shop guy that painted my Civic and he said that the pearl white is the hardest paint to match- he also mentioned my old Civic and said that red fades so fast that it is impossible to keep the metal and the plastic the same color unless you can almost completely avoid parking in the sun. I park my car in my garage at night and in a parking garage during the day, which might explain why my Civic paint fared so much better after it got painted, which was about the time I started parking almost exclusively indoors.
