Curious on peoples opinion...
Faster and less reliable? You may only have your car half the time, but when you have it, good God almighty, they better watch out.
OR
Quick and reliable like everyone elses car? I may get beaten a lot, but at least I can drive to and from work.
If you had the ultimate choice to build your car the way you want, what would you do?
Remember, to go fast, you have to sacrifice something, there is no such thing as "***** out, stupid fast.... but as trustworthy as the day it came off the assembly line."

For a daily driver you have to be reliable enough to get to work everyday.
I don't suppose I need to say anything else huh? lol
Let me rephrase this. As long as you can make it to work on time everyday make the car as fast as possible. If that involves running to work or taking a bus, so be it.
What fun is a ***** out car if it is always breaking because of reliability problems. I have turned myself into more of a realist. Have a quick car that looks good and is going to last.

I like the look the parking guy gives me whenever I pull in. He's always telling me about how my car is broken... hears my open dp from miles away
Never put up w/ half ***. Want a fast car, build it and find another way to work. Buses have a/c, and nobody around here takes them
Spoiled americans, just kidding
<< tony who will be taking a nice cold bus in the hot summer

you always have to sacrifice something, but if you have the cash, theres no reason why you cant have a perfectly reliable daily driver and still have a very fast car. like a simple turbo that has you in the 13's at <10psi would be fine for a daily driver if done right.

Who do you want to be? The safe, 10psi? OR that guy that when he IS on the road, he's making you wish you rode the bike this morning?
go buy a rusted out perfect running older accord (88 ish) for a grand. Then build the poo out of your lude. Also invest in AAA
When you lude needs garage time, drive the accord.

I didn't buy a Prelude because I thought it was fast...
Edit: No I'm not joking!!

It seems kind of silly to me how Honda people say our cars are so much more reliable than domestics, yet they install things like underdrive pulleys and 3" drop springs, which reduce life.
Now that you've got me started... they hold gas mileage over the domestics too, yet they spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars making their cars burn as much fuel as possible. Not only that, they say Hondas are so nicely styled (and I agree), but then people go mutilating them with wings, ground effects, and crap like that.
Sorry if I went off on a tangent there.

As far as styling, Hondas are a nice looking car, but they're also one of the best selling cars in the world, which means, that one out of every 4 people in the world has a car JUST LIKE YOURS. Doesn't THAT make you feel special.
Let the guys who want to put body kits and rims on their rides do it in peace. As far as gas mileage. Who said we get better mileage? When I race I get single digits, and you know what? I don't really care... *shrug*
I think you stay in other peoples business too much if the whole scene bothers you.
It's posts like ludeman's that made me stop going into any other prelude forums. Everyone considers the prelude to be this nice, wholesome, comfortable car. Hell, my car was called a sleeper last weekend and it is bright red with white rims. Does anyone know why that happened? It's because people think preludes are slow. Well screw that, and I'm going turbo hunting all this summer to prove that preludes can be made into respectably fast street cars.

But you drive on those weird curvy things when you race.
