Default rsr exmag - cut off chrome tip

I've had this exmag exhaust on my car for the better part of a year now and I love it, but I would prefer to just have a no-nonsense flat black tip. From the construction it appears that it may be possible to remove the outer metal pipe by grinding it off. Is it possible to cut off ONLY the chrome part surrounding the inner pipe?

just leave it along or just the whole tip entirely.

Paint the tip black and save you some trouble.
