how do you expand collectors like this?

Default how do you expand collectors like this?



Just wondering where you can get an expander that will do rectangles/squares to fit turbo flanges like this? Ive found ones that do expand round stuff ,but not anyones that will do rectangles

I think you will need to make some sort of form and work it by hand with a mallet. A decent tube expander cost's thousands so i doubt a rectangle or square one will be any cheaper (i personally have not even seen them for sale)

Or you could just do what i do, and beat the living sh*# out of it with a short 2x4. It takes a few min, but when its done i can get my collector made with .065 ss to fit a t3 flange perfectly.

How to do it yourself?
Use a vice and a small ball hammer get the 2 long sides flat the way you want and get them weldedon flange
then tap other sides till they match other flats on flange and weld...

Or get a machine shop to machine you a die for a hydraulic press
just press it in and it will form it (that is how ccpexhaust does it)

they do make things like this ,.. allot cheaper and you use an impact on it

Those things are made more for getting stuff round, they won't expand tubing enough to make a slip joint, unless it's 20g mild steel.
