Default Sprockets?

Well next season the bike will need new rear sprocket got a couple of broken teeth on the current one. Debating on a couple to buy Vortex and Renthal. I have heard from more than one person that vortex is weak and doesn't really last long buddy had one on his r6 and needed a new one in 5 months wore down and was just from regular riding(Which is my bikes primary function) and the occasional wheelie and what not. The mechanic that services my bike said the similar thing that they dont last long. Anyone have any differing experiences with vortex and has anybody used renthal before?

Aluminum sprockets will wear out faster than steel ones. However, they are also lighter.

Vortex is decent. I've had it on one of my bikes before, and I had no problems. AFAM is good too.

How long did it last you and what kind of riding do you mostly do
AFAM was also on my list or I was thinking of maybe just replacing the current sun star with another one.

Mine lasted ~8-10k miles of commuting/canyon-riding/trackdays.

Check the teeth on your sprockets. If they are still in good shape, then you don't really HAVE to change the sprockets. Otherwise, it's advisable to do both sprockets and the chain at the same time, so one will not cause undue wear on the others.

4 broken teeth?? Yeah, that's a good reason to change sprockets.
