I just picked up a 97 ek about a week ago, still has the D16y7 of course. It has an SI gauge cluster, but the speedo doesnt work. I checked the power & ground on the VSS and those are good. I wired up the VSS signal wire to pin b16 of the ecu and to pin A11 on the back of the gauge cluster. For some reason the speedo is still not working. Any suggestions?

Use a volt meter on AC and start at the VSS, you should get a voltage reading just by turning it with your hand, get a friend to help and trace your way back up to the ECU and speedo, good volts, change speedo.
