Default 91 crx dx suspension, LCA/sway bar

I know that the dx doesn't have the capability to easily add a rear sway bar to the rear. I've been doing some searching around for a couple of days, and it looks like if I get an aftermarket rear Lower control arm, then I should have the capability to add a rear sway bar. Is this correct, or am I completely wrong?

Also, I'm pretty sure, but I just need verification. If i do get an aftermarket LCA for the rear I should be able to use one that is made for 92-up civics as well, not just 88-91, even though I do have, and will probably keep the rear drums for a while.

Suspension is new to me, I haven't really done much with it, or done a ton of research, but can i use rear upper and lower tie bars from other cars besides EF's? Its kind of hard to tell when I'm looking at sites that carry aftermarket equipment.

Thanks. Hopefully my posts will improve. Please be gentle, its only my first post on here. I just found this site recently.

i just went through answering this guys question. you should read it.

EF's do have a different way of mounting the rear swaybar. it might be that EG style of mounting swaybars to the subframe is possible, but wouldnt recommend it.

i also dont recommend any aftermarket rear lca. i think youre much better getting stock control arms from an online dealer for $130 shipped.

Any reason in particular that you would recommend a stock RLCA over an aftermarket one? I know I should do my bushings back there, so I was thinking that I could replace the stock LCA with aftermarket, then I wouldn't have to change out those bushings. But if there's not any improvement, then it would be a waste of money.

It`s funny cause the last three dx hatches that i had i`ve put the Si rear sway and control arms on buy cleaning the holes in the rear sub-frame and bolting eveything from the Si up.

I know the base model here in Canada is called the cx and it didn`t have the rear sway bar holes, but all the dx civic did. I`d just look under your car and check.

hmm could be a canadian thing?

almost all aftermarket lca are crap, the exception is function 7. they dont place the swaybar hole in the right place first of all. also, the bushings are either poly which is do not recommend and consider beneficial, or are just crap compared to OEM.

the $130 price i gave is for a new OEM LCA, with new bushings already installed, freshly painted. ive bought a set.

I`ve seen those control arms, good deal. I`ve had ploy bushings in my control arms before, awesome if you race on a track but other than that their stiff as hell.

I think it might be a Canadian thing about the dx having the holes, cause i know forsore the cx didn`t have them.
