World Motorsports PBC-1, anyone bought one yet besides me?
I just picked mine up after seeing a demo of it at the Nopi Nationals 2006. I was pretty impressed with it compared to the Greddy

The New PBC-1 from WORLD electronics
5 Stages of boost w/ scramble
Same controlling software a the TBC-1
Controls and reads up to 50 PSI
Easy setup-and-go features
20 seconds of boost/time
data recording
Digital LCD display w/ backlight
Basically, for the same price as a greddy profec B, you get 5 stages of boost scramble (IE pick what psi of boost you want to run in each gear), up to 50psi of boost capability, the controller reads in PSI , NOT PERCENTAGE. The boost controller will LEARN YOUR WASTEGATE BOOST .
I was just wondering if anyone has heard or used one from HT. Ill be using mine on my 2JZ 240sx.

Ill be using a ground switch or my AEM.
we tried it on spoolinmatts car already with no problems, hell be using it this weekend at IFO

this units ground triggered a momentary button a clutch switch, or engine management triggerable.</TD></TR></TABLE>
So there's 1 input, and each trigger goes up a stage? Can you set it up to where it gets a different signal for each stage, ie. 3-4 different outputs from the ecu that are triggered by speed? Any possibility in seeing a time based version in the future?

The PBC is actually a more affordable version of their TBC1. The TBC is pretty badass, but not everyone can afford to spend that kind of money.

The TBC-1 looks nice and I am sure it works well but I don’t know if I would spend 1200 on it...... I would spend the 420 though on the PBC depending on how well it works

Why would you wast your money on a BC when you could just get a GM (cheap) or Apexi (AEM IS THE SAME THING) solenoid for around a hundred bucks and run your speed based boost control off the AEM? Thats one of the nicest features of the EMS.

im not 100% sure im going with AEM yet, depends what the funds allow, plus, i like seeing the boost controller an its functions displayed in the cabin, dont want to ride around with my laptop all the time

What is there to see??? You have a boost gauge right? If you want switchable control, AEM has it.

bingo

w/the ems you can get one set level of boost and one other target method.. tps/rpm or vss based... so you can have 2 settings, kinda limited but it works really good. if you really wanted you could use a 3 way valve and a on/off to switch it from running on the bc soleniod to the wg spring, i have done that a couple times.
but that thing looks pretty nice and dosnt cost much.. might have to get one for the couple of cars here that run hondata junk

We use them in conjunction with the aem boxes. Boost comp, different stages its easy for me to give a car back to a customer who can't use an ems or laptop. Street gas is this stage race gas put it to this stage. We've configured a couple units with 0-100 psi transducers for the few who run over 50 psi. I'm actualy testing the newest software for the turbo bike guys (6 stages with a reset button to drop back to the 1st stage right before they launch. We' re listening to the racers and constantley making software upgrades.
Tony every trigger it goes up one stage...there are delays for a double clutch hit, and if your managment lays out a constant ground it stays in that stage until the ground is broken then re-aplied. And the stages are selectable from 2 through 6. So you can have a hi / low or 1 2 3..its configurable for alot of different situations.

To me that is what really sets this product above everyone elses. This means if they come up with better software or better options in the future, you can upgrade within reason

And he can do that with the flick of a switch. Granted he can only setup 2 boost maps but you could always add a MBC as Joseph stated for adjustment w/o a laptop. I dont like how there is only one trigger input. IE: you HAVE to go from stage 1to2to3to4to5to6. You cant just have a trigger for, say, stage 3.
I still honestly see no reason for this with the AEM unless the user does not have any access to a laptop.

is there a somewhere we can dl more info on this. if they could have a built in timer it would be bad ***. get a timer in this thing. for the pbc one.
you can email me, i think i have the most experieince with them besides WM.
