does it rain alot where you are? if so go short ram, you can always add some more piping to make it cold air, with alot less money too.

Rain or not, go cold air. You really have to try to hydrolock your motor. (like drive in a lake, that might hydrolock it.)

haha i beg to differ. I have come close to hydrolocking my motor a few times when i was NA with just little puddles. when i say close i mean...had to change my plugs and vacum all of the water out of the cylinders, change the oil and the car ran like *** for about 30 minutes and blew clouds and clouds of white smoke out of the exhuast.

one take a good timing and right amount of water, you'll be surprise how many people almost hydrolock their motor

or just get a bypass valve they work good but it sucks up warm air also from the engine compartment

I went shortram just because I was worried about hydrolocking as I go through some big puddles sometimes and I like being able to go through automatic car washs without worries stuff like that. I actually have the CAI I just didn't install all of it so am using it as a short ram.

I've never seen that happen, EVER. Were you in 8" puddles 90% covering your intake filter with water while full throttle? I cannot see how a motor can suck that much air to move water, which happens to weigh a lot... past your filter though piping into your intake manifold past your inj...wtf! I drive with my CAI no bypass no nothing in the pouring rain through massive puddles and nothing has happened.

If you have full fender liners, and put in a GOOD bypass valve, you have nothing to worry about. It takes alot of vacuum to pull water into the motor, and a bypass will work to prevent it. Just get a good one that stays shut under normal circumstances, or the motor won't be pulling much air through the main filter.
