built/boosted h22 or k20a2 in ek?
whats up guys,
i just got back from boot camp a couple weeks ago and im looking to build another car. I just picked up a 97 civic coupe, and im looking at either doing 2 motor options, and i need help on deciding. keep in mind, when i go to sell the car,i would like to get around the price i put in it,i know im not going to get what i put in the car,but i dont want to loose my *** on the car. my choices are.......
1st....h22 FULLY built, iron sleeves, forged pistons/rods with a built head,3 angle valve job, staneless steel valves, etc. turboed on hondata. looking to make 500+whp on stock ignition and 93 pump gas (maybe race gas). cost: around 9-9,5K for building, motor install, turbo kit and tuning
2nd choice....k20a2 swap. around 7-7,5K for motor and install. then maybe going with some different cams, but my goal with this motor is to stay all motor/nitrous.
i used to have a built bottom LS turbo hatchback which was pretty F-ing fast. sold it before i left for bootcamp (i dont know WHAT i was thinking). Now i want a fast honda again, but i dont want to spend *** loads of money, nor do i want to loose an *** load of money when i want to turn around and sell her. What should i do?!?! ive always wanted an all motor car,but i want an all motor car that is fast. then take into consideration that now im in a coupe....not a hatchback. would a k20 feed my need for speed? hahaha

Yeah, I like GN's, they are not toooo terribly fast stock (especially with the boost they produce), but they can be very lethal. And speaking of old muscle cars, I almost bought a '72 Camero that ran 12's. It was when I was in high school and didn't have the money for a car and a truck, unlike now. Boy, did I miss out. And that Camero was only lightly modded. Well, a little.

i might be fast but you have to admit it looks like a green version of the bat mobile.
as for your car, i would go with the k20/24 and boost it.

you're putting $7-10k into a car that is worth $3500-4k max.
There will be 0 return on investment unless you can find someone actually looking for a project car.
IMO you should just put a down payment on a nicer car that will go fast(er) stock.
Otherwise K that bitch.
