Alright I am going to try to explain this as good as possible. My friend got a 90-91 Crx HF for free with no motor. It had a ls motor in it prior. I took the motor out of my old 89 si and installed it with its original motor harness and the p06 ecu. I go to crank it up and it wont start. It turns over but no fire. So I checked to make sure I am getting fuel and it is. Then I go to check fire and I get none. I though it might be the dizzy so I changed it with another one laying around the garage and still no spark. I wasn't sure if that dizzy was good or not so I replaced it again with one I know is good. I take the spark plug out and put it in the spark plug wire and grounded it out and tell my friend to turn the motor over. Still no spark. Then I noticed as he would turn the key from the off position to the on position that it would spark once when he turned the ignition on. He didn't even turn the motor over. That was with the number four plug wire. So I tried the rest and it did the same with the number three but not with the other two. I am totally stumped. I checked all connections and they are all good. What should I do? Is ther a write up somewhere or has this ever happened to any one else?

i would double check the engine's grounds. make sure they're ALL there. thermostat, valve cover, transmission...
it could be a bitch starting with an unknown preswapped car....

Did you do all the wiring right? Are the plug wires good? There are sooo many things that you have to check out first man. That is just so broad it could literally be something stupid that you forgot to hook up or hooked up wrong we would never know. You talked about a ls motor but you put in your buddies Si engine? So I assume that its an Si engine in there now we are talking about? Are you putting the right distributors in there? Are these distributors from working cars? If you arent getting replys please help expand on your previous post and give us updates on what youve recently tried.

The car is a 91 Dx crx with the entire chassis harness changed out with the si. It had a ls in it then they took it out. I put in a Si motor. I triple checked every connection. Will a bad ecu cause it to spark when you turn on the key. I am using the right dizzy. I even took the one off of my running crx and it did the same thing.
I have power to the coil.Any suggestions on where to start.

If your say that your getting 12V to the coil and you have a proven distributor in there it should start. Have you checked timing? If the timing is too far off it wont start. There is a mark across the cam gear that should lay horizontal to the head while the #1 piston is a TDC (top dead center). Fuel, Compression, and Spark in correct timing is all any engine needs to run.

I know what it takes for a engine to run. The motor is fine it ran in the other car. The distributor is fine we took it off of a running car. I think something is messed up on the under dash harness. Is there a diagram on the ecu pinouts and where they should go?
I would advise you to check out the FAQ's list. With as much stuff that is in there, Im suprised we even need a forum. There is complete wiring diagrams, and pinout info there. If you cant find it there let us know.

I have checked the faqs list and there is nothing that will help me on this particular swap. I think there is something different between the 89 SI engine harness and the 90-91 HF engine harness. Can some one verify this. The car is a 90-91 HF and the engine harness is a 89 SI. Will these work together or do I need the HF engine harness?
