Default Koni vs Spring Height vs 15" question please.....

I'm running Koni double adjustables. I want to change spring height from 8" on all four corners, down to 7" front and 6" rear, because someone who KNOWS suggested it. MOST guys running this setup have 14x7 rims, but I happen to be running 15x7 at the moment. Does anyone out there know if it will it work? I'd hate to buy even more springs that I cannot use.

Koni double adj. + 7"f 6"r springs + 15x7 30mm offset???

Thanks in advance......

I would think that 30mm offset would be your biggest issue. Do you have fender rub issues now?

It rubbed ONCE the first time I hit the brakes after I put them on, but a few tugs on the FRONT fender, and MANY track sessions later.....No fender rub issues so far......

Anyone running close to this setup? More info please....(Cough) Tyson? (Cough)....

hey joe.

7" is what youll want up front at race height. 8" is definatley way too much spring.

in the rear, 6" is better than 8" (cant get 7" in the rates im assuming youll be running), but itll leave you with a lot of gap under the top hat. you can either not worry about it because youll be using a big rear swaybar anyway and it wont ever let it droop, or get helper springs. or, you can get extended top hats which will give you extra shock travel, which isnt a bad thing at all.

but if youre only running 600 in the rear, then just get the 7" ERS. you may one day want to try that up front....

Thanks for the quick reply.......I was going for 800 rear, I'll check on availability in 6" @ 800# or so.....Just trying to be sure about the 15" clearance, cause now that THE tire is available in 14", nobody seems to need to run the 15's.....

I thought droop was a good thing, but I guess that's for another thread.......

So 7" on all four corners would work if I could get the rates wanted, but it sounds like the rates available make us use 7"f / 6"r......I think I got it.......

Thanks Again.........

going by what you say tyson, that a 7" up front would be more suitable at 'race height' than an 8" would that not just mean that the collar would be 1" higher than what i'm at now on 8" springs? I still have plenty of adjustment on the collar to make it lower...and by race height i'd assume the point at which it (shocks) does not bottom out...but too low can be bad for roll, no?

I believe hypercoil makes some of the 7" in the rates that ERS isnt at that length; both are good springs.
