you know you still won't have vtec right?
but seriously, i think the spark plug holes are on the exhaust side of the vc on the y8 bc of all the vtec components on the intake side and on the y5 the spark plug holes are on the intake side.
the y5 is the cx engine right? i get that and the hx mixed up but don't/couldn't give a **** less to look it up

wont fit, for reason stated in reply above
"sparkplug wires on vtech sohc are on opposite side of valve cover" and you cant just turn it around because of the opening for the cam gear
