weird problem
why arent my front wheels locked up when the tranny is put in gear with the front sitting on jackstands? im trying to take the front wheels off with the tires off ground and tranny in 1st gear but the wheels keep spinning like it's in neutral.
this is a non-running car. before while the engine was running, the tranny made a weird whining noise like it had some bearing problem.

i knew that, but i thought when the tranny is put in gear, the front wheels should be locked?
in my case, it's spins freely.
is it normal?

thanks for your reply
strange. the gear is put in first, and the wheel still spins freely. i looked over at the other wheel, it also spins in opposite direction, like it has LSD or something.
anyone else has any thought on this?
