so my car has been overheating lately. now im starting to think its a blown HG. at first i fixed a leak in one of the hoses. then add coolent back, drove around, 15 minutes it started to overheat. i thought it was air bubbles in the system so i bleed it. fill it back up with coolent. drive it around and does the same thing. i bleed it again. i repeat bleeding it hella times. the wierd thing is the temp needle doesnt stay in on spot. it jumps around everywhere, fast. when i do bleed it everytime, it does have air bubbles come out. so im thinking i blew my HG and the leak is blowing air into the coolent. can someone confirm this b4 i i change my HG. its alot of work and time i dont have rite now. thanks ahead.

 

hows your radiator cap?
i remember a tiny rip in the rubber of the cap caused me to overheat.

 

havent checked the cap. but wouldnt coolent be overflowing the resevoir or leaking out somewhere if that was the case?

 

Make sure your grounds are clean and check the thermo as well.

 

grounds are clean, thermo is good. i have air bubbles in my system. im pretty sure. when i open the bleed valve, a long stream of bubbles shoots out.
