I can't tell how fast I'm going!!
I have 1987 CRX Si that I have restored. The final step was getting it painted, which I just did last week. It turned out awesome, mint. One problem, when I picked it up the tachometer and speedometer were dead. I noticed the needles were hanging all the way down, resting on the gauge floor, well below the 0 MPH/rpm. I can't say for sure, but I thought they usually were at the 0 when the car was off? I can't imagine what part of repainting a car could effect the gauges? There was one thing that I noticed. I had the windows tinted as well, so the tinter was working inside the vehicle and the turnsignal arm was broken off. All the connections in the back of the gauges look fine. The only thing I can think of is this broken turnsignal switch. Also, when the car is driven and the speedometer and tachometer do move, just much, much lower than the actual values. Example, the tach needle will start moving when I hit about 4500 rpms. The speedometer starts moving when I reach about 50 mph. Any ideas? Thanks.
