all the slots have been pretty much filled already. He was stuck without a ride and had basically nowhere to go

Correct, he could've taken the Kawasaki ride and I have to think he could've gotten the second D'Antin Ducati seat over Hoffman. He just didn't want to slide further down the grid. Last year was his last chance to really show something and he didn't get it done.

It kind of serves him right because first he was complaining that Rossi's factory RCV was better than his, then when he got the "shadow" factory RCV he still couldn't beat him. Then of course 2005 came around and he just self destructed. Similar trajectory to Biaggi except he had a lot more tact than Biaggi (although that's not saying much).

Well if you're right, I think he should have taken Kawasaki's offer. And you're right again, his pride would have gotten slammed in '07.

How old is he? Probably happy that he still has all his limbs, and wanted to get out.

The article said he's 33...and I don't think that's the reason why he's leaving. You can't get used to losing.

But then again, Esther Canadas is there to comfort him each time.
