Default d16y8 swap into 91 CRX Si?

Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking of doing a 99 EX d16y8 swap into my 91 CRX Si (currently the original 91 d16a6), and was wondering if anyone had a web page/write up chronicling(sp) the steps to do this, with all the parts needed to make the swap successful.

Some questions that immediately come to mind are:

Will the axles fit in the CRX hubs?

Do I need to swap over the wiring harness from the 99 to the 91?

How do I activate vtec?

How much should I pay for the motor/tranny/ecu?

Do the stock motor mounts work? Or do I use 99 EX motor mounts?

How do I convert my tranny to hydrolic(sp)?

Thanks for all of your help and reading my post.

if i were you i would just buy the d16y8 motor, not the whole swap,,re-use the stock tranny, axles, motor mounts, wire harness, distributor and ecu...Have the stock pm6 ecu chipped with turbo edit,,have d16y8 fuel and timing maps burned and use the 1-wire vtec feature for vtec...for the wire harness the stock crx si works fine for the most part,,theres some wires that need to be extended and you'll have to cut and solder a new plug for the fan switch..for the most part its an easy swap.

just how i would do it
