New guy 2000 Eurospec Type R
I'm new here and I've driven nothing but Conquests, 300zx's and Mustangs, and I gotta say this Type R I just bought is the *****. Handles so much better and actually I think sounds better than the 302 I had in my quest. It's only got 30k miles and is bone stock (some 50 year old germans sunday driver). I live out here in Germany so I thought I'd say whats up, eventually seeking advice on mods while I dump money into this sexy-time machine. Peace

awesome first post and entry to HT

and oh...enjoy her stock for a little while before "dumping money" into mods...she is really that good out of the box.

Oh I'm keepin her stock for the winter and through spring, I'm really lucky I found it in the condition it was in, it literally feels like it came right off the assembly line. The only mods I'm ready to do in the first year are the cams, exhaust and get it re-painted (that red tends to fade a little). Those pictures are from the Nurburgring by the way, took it out there the first weekend I had it.
Wow your test track surely makes me want to go there! Once you plan to start to modify your car. my advice is to look for a very reputable shop/builder that knows a lot about honda's. When you put a cam(lets say bigger than stage 1) in, you'll have to put a programmable ecu and re-tune your car. My first experience was horrible but it turned out ok but it cost a lot of money. I had to change builders to sort my car out. The first shop I went to was horrible. He blamed my cams since he could'nt tune the engine properly. So the builder/tuner should be able to guide you on what parts to get. I learned that some builders prefer certain cams over others etc. Maybe they are used to tuning specific brands only.
I really like the way my engine performed with high compression and with a long duration cam. I dont think I will go below 12:1 in compression in my next build. I will probably mill my head next time instead of getting a high domed piston like the CTR piston which I have. Good luck!

Welcome, from Canada!
The R is a totally diffrent beast than what you're used to, but it seems you're already finding your way.
Get ready to enjoy the thrill of driving all over again.
Keep it safe.

Hi and welcome !
I saw your car when you were at the Nordschleife (29.10) and I looked for the driver, but unfortunately you didnt show up.
Do you know the german honda board (www.hondapower.de) ?
Would be great if you register there too, I´m always looking for people who track their R,
and its even better when they are from the same town and love the Nordschleife, like I do
Thats my R btw, maybe you recognize her

Actually I got some video of you on the track, we camped out by like the 14 - 16th kilometer just hangin out seeing what I shoulda done on the track, you swooped by a couple times. I left my car at the lot so I wasn't around it at the time. I didn't see any other ITR's out there and I gotta say your's sounded pretty insane. I was impressed......me and mr rx8 will probably jump at every chance to race there again so I hope to see ya out there on the track. Incase anyone cares my ITR is #6332.
ya that castle shot was pretty sweet, I can't even count the number of great pics/video's we got that day. Went through 3 tanks of gas as well.
