What is the top speed you guys hit with your GSR's???
I have h/i/e and i topped off at 218km/h. I could have went a little faster, maybe 222km/h or something but ran out of space. Motor trend says the top speed is 130mph, has anyone beat that with a near stock gsr??
Yeah they do. Rev limit! sorry i didnt clarify when you hit rev limit speed is always
the same 143

8k in fifth gear with stock trans and tires on a 94rs. (Rev Limiter Removed) and a lot of bolt-ons.
by the way 110 is the most i went somewhere in jersey on my way to HIN last year.

Integras have no speed limiter (old Camry did at 112, it sucked), and I am quite sure a stock GS-R would be capable of 150mph. I have personally reached an indicated 140mph when my car was bone stock, which was at 7K RPM in 5th gear. I once plotted a graph of speed vs. RPM in every gear, and projecting the line for 5th gear showed 150mph coming right around 8K rpm so I have no doubt that it would be possible. Asahi on this forum has had his 2000 ITR to about 155, he was right at the 8400 rpm redline in his car (he has a pic somewhere).
I had my car at 150 on the speedo. I didnt look at the tach cuz i was too concentrated on the road. I have 205/50 size tires so i was prolly only doin like 145ish.
holy moly u guys drive too fast.. (but then again i've only taken my gsr to 120.. any faster and i would have passed the highway patrolman...
)
Speedo said 143, but from what I hear, GSR speedo's arent too accurate. The tach said 7100 rpm and I believe that is actually 143 mph. The car wouldnt go any past that, and I stayed on it for a good 20 seconds after I got to 7100 rpm.
edit : that was stock

I think the tach should be a lot more accurate than the speedometer. As far as I know, the speed sensor sends a voltage level that indicates speed to the ECU, then the ECU converts that into pulses and sends it to the speedometer. The tach, on the other hand, just reads the pulses directly from the ignition system. Being an analog gauge, it's not perfectly accurate or instant, but I would expect that it's more accurate than the speedometer.
You can determine the MPH from the RPM if you have the gear ratios for your final drive (4.40 for GSR, iirc) and the gear you were in, along with the circumference of your front tires (can be determined from your tire size). There's several web pages with calculators that will do this for you. I have the formula at home, maybe I'll post it if I remember...
People with innaccurate or low range speedometers like to claim that this method doesn't accurately determine the real speed (ie it says their speed is lower than what they guessed it was), but they obviously don't understand math. The only margin of error in that calculation is the tire circumference (going by the tire size rating isn't completely precise), but it can be measured by a piece of string if you really need that precision.

16x in a turbo GSR with 12 psi. he was using an autometer speedometer so i'm assuming it was pretty accurate. readings stop @ 160 though, and we were slightly past that. could have kept going easy but there was no point to being that stupid for that much time.
